This video, produced by the Tower Industry Foundation (TIF) and released in conjunction with NATE: The Communications Infrastructure Contractors Association, is intended to focus on the topic of twist, plumb and tension (TPT) of a guyed tower.

NATE UNITE 2024 Sizzle Reel #ClimberConnection Video!

NATE: The Communications Infrastructure Contractors Association today unveiled a video shining a spotlight on the topic of Electrical Safety Awareness. The video is the second to Debut in Volume 7 of the Association’s popular #ClimberConnection Series.

The NATE Electrical Safety Awareness video is intended to provide guidance to the industry’s technician workforce regarding the hazards associated with working near power lines as well as the equipment and training protocols necessary to keep workers safe in these environments. The video also highlights the NATE Electrical Safety Awareness training resources that are available for free to the Association’s members and stakeholders in the industry.

“As convergence happens and the industry continues to evolve, we are seeing more scenarios where tower technicians are getting exposed to overhead and downed electrical hazards while deploying wireless and broadband services,” said Corey Manus, Vice President Business Development and Special Projects at TES, a Congruex Company. “The video touches on many crucial elements the industry’s workforce needs to be educated and trained to ensure their safety when working in these environments. I would strongly encourage companies in the industry to incorporate this video into their tailgate safety meetings and training sessions,” added Manus.

Electrical Safety NATE #ClimberConnection Video

Video is the First to Debut in Volume 7 of the Association’s Popular #ClimberConnection Series

(Watertown, SD) - NATE: The Communications Infrastructure Contractors Association today unveiled a video shining a spotlight on the NATE Climber/Rescuer Training Standard (CRTS).

The NATE CRTS is intended to assist in standardizing fall protection and rescue training for climbers in the tower and communications infrastructure construction, service, and maintenance industries. The NATE CRTS is available in electronic format for free to NATE member companies and for purchase for stakeholders representing non-members.

The #ClimberConnection video conducts a deep dive into the CRTS, presenting a series of training topics, establishing a minimum baseline of knowledge and skill that a climber should possess. The CRTS training topics include an evaluation, intended to help an employer designate personnel initially as authorized climbers/rescuers and for personnel with sufficient knowledge, skills, and experience, as competent climbers/rescuers. The CRTS also offers guidelines to support an employer’s development and maintenance of its fall protection program to comply with the ANSI/ASSP A10.48 standard and regulations where work is conducted.

“This video does a great job of breaking down the importance of employers structuring their training to the guidelines outlined in the NATE CRTS with specific emphasis on the specific rescue types, techniques, and equipment utilized in the industry,” said Justin Miller of Ontivity. “I would strongly encourage all companies to adhere to the NATE CRTS protocols in their respective training programs,” added Miller.

NATE Releases Climber/Rescuer Training Standard #ClimberConnection Video

The Women of NATE held an Open Call on January 16, 2024, called "Retool Your Skill Set: Thrive in the New Year and Beyond" moderated by Ashley Skitt of Tempo Communications and featured Dr. Crystal Camejo of Ritel Incorporated, Mital Chavda of Valmont Site Pro 1, and Amanda Hernandez-Lawler of Teltech Group.
