The mission of the Cherokee Area Economic Development Corporation is to attract and retain business and residents. Cherokee County boasts a strong diversity of businesses and a quality of life that positions the area as a Northwest Iowa economic hub. The wind energy industry is thriving in the Cherokee County area with nearly 500 turbines either planned, or in operation in the area.
